ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - In the event of a police, fire or medical emergency, call 911. For lesser crimes, complaints and concerns, however, the Albuquerque Police Department and Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department offer alternative phone numbers and in some cases online methods to contact authorities.

Citizen complaint about APD

• "It is policy of the Albuquerque Police Department to investigate all valid complaints and take whatever action is necessary to maintain the integrity of the department."
   
• Citizens with questions or concerns about APD procedures can initiate formal and informal complaint processes by contacting the mayor's office (768-3000), the Independent Review Office (924-3770), the Internal Affairs Office (768-2880) or any of the APD substations. Informal complaints can be handled within an APD employee's chain of command. Formal complaints are made in writing and begin a process that starts with an internal or independent investigation.
