ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The University of New Mexico will soon have a satellite in space.
NASA selected UNM and more than a dozen other schools to build miniature satellites called "cube sats."
Each satellite weighs less than 2.2 pounds and is smaller than a quart container.
The satellites will piggyback on previously-planned space launches through 2012.
