ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Hundreds of Qwest Communications customers lost phone service after a technical error of some sort occurred as crews worked to replace lines in northeast Albuquerque on Thursday.
The error knocked out service to 1,100 phone lines in the neighborhood near Indian School Road and Washington Street NE. Qwest set up changable message signs in the neighborhood to notify residents of the outage, which also left the customers without access to 9-1-1.
Most service was restored by Saturday, while the final few customers had service back by 5:10 p.m. Sunday.
