SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Back in May, President-elect Barack Obama was campaigning in West Virginia during the primaries. It was a state he would go on to lose to Sen. Hillary Clinton. But that didn't stop him from hanging around and visiting some local establishments.
One of the places Obama spent time at was a bar called Schultzie's in South Charleston, W.Va. The media was particularly interested in his time spent off the stump as he had recently bowled a gutterball in Pennsylvania. But on that particular day, Obama shot some pool, pocketing three balls in a row.
"That's a sign of a misspent youth," he joked. "Obviously, I wasn't doing wholesome things like bowling."
Now the pool table has gone up for auction on eBay. The starting bid is $500,000. Schultzie's owner, John Mawyer, said part of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
"At the end of the day, it's a piece of history," Mawyer told the Charleston Gazette . "I can see an eccentric person who has a lot of money say, 'I want that table.'"
