Call it a New Year's miracle or just good luck. A baby girl is doing fine after a stray bullet landed in her diaper on New Year's.

It happened during a midnight service at a church in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis Police believe the bullet may have been fired outside from a reveler's gun.

The 7-month-old's mother says when the little girl started crying and screaming during the church service, she didn't know what was wrong.

"I picked her up and tried to give her 'binky', 'cause 'binky' normally calm her down. But 'binky' didn't work," said Jewell Anderson, the baby's mother.

The mother then took the girl to the bathroom, where she found the bullet in the diaper.

Police say they've found stray bullets in unusual places before, reminders of how dangerous carelessly firing weapons can be.
