ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A baby in New Mexico will have quite the story to tell when he grows up after he was born on the way to the hospital in grandma’s car.
Erica Fernando from the Laguna Reservation started having contractions early Monday morning.
She and her mother rushed to the hospital in Albuquerque, but the baby was in a rush as well.
Alexander was born just passed Nine Mile Hill.
The family pulled into the Flying J Gas Station parking lot where they met an ambulance.
”I told my mom I said I only thought that happened in the movies I didn't think it happened in real life...but everything was fine,” Fernando said.
Both baby and mom are doing well
