ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Albuquerque drivers celebrated New Mexico's 100th birthday loudly and proudly Friday by honking their horns for about 30 seconds.

The noisy commemoration erupted at 11:35 a.m., about the same time of day that President William Howard Taft signed the New Mexico statehood bill on Jan. 6, 1912.

The Alvarado Transportation Center downtown also got in on the revelry with train, bus and car horns all going off.
