RAMAH, N.M. (KRQE) - The name of the 8-year-old mauled to death by a pack of dogs has been released.
The Cibola County undersheriff told the Gallup Independent that Tomas Henio was attacked by nine dogs near his family's home in Pine Hill Wednesday.
The FBI is investigating his death because it happened on the Ramah Navajo Indian Reservation.
Nine dogs, including one that belonged to the family of the boy, were taken from the scene to the Grants Animal Care Center where they have been euthanized.
The sheriff's department says the family dog had bitten the boy before.
Officials are still awaiting autopsy results.
