Gathering of Nations wins Grammy

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An annual event in Albuquerque is honored on a national scale at the 2011 Grammy Awards.

The album from the 2010 Gathering of Nations Pow Wow has already taken home the trophy for Best Native American Music Album.

The producers were presented their Grammy at the Los Angeles Convention Center before the big show at the Staples Center.

The album features 21 songs performed at the pow wow last spring.

Producers said this is the first time they have been recognized since starting up their own label.
