State cowboy song, guitar now law

SANTA FE (KRQE) - "Where the PiƱon Mesa rolls / And the campfire cures your woes / Watchin' the sly roadrunner flee / On the tail of an autumn breeze."

So begins New Mexico's new state cowboy song, "Under New Mexico Skies" by Syd Masters. Gov. Bill Richardson signed a bill Wednesday declaring the state cowboy song .

He also signed a separate bill Wednesday declaring the Pimentel Rising Sun Guitar the state's official guitar .

Richardson has about 20 days to sign or veto legislation passed during the Legislature's final days.
