ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Tax Day brought of the Tea Party Thursday as thousands of party members lined Albuquerque streets to protest government policies and burdensome taxation.
Protestors set up along Menaul Boulevard from San Pedro to Wyoming waving signs and rallying for the conservative movement. A KRQE News 13 reporter on the scene estimated the crowd in the thousands protesting everything from bank bailouts to health-care reform.
A Tea Party protest also was scheduled to being at 5 p.m. on the plaza in Santa Fe. Similar rallies were being held around the country.
Tea Partiers also rallied at the Curry County Courthouse in Clovis and in Los Lunas, Moriarty, Roswell, Ruidoso and Silver City.
