SUNLAND PARK, N.M. (KRQE) - Sunland Park finally has a new mayor.
Wednesday night the city council there appointed Javier Perea to the job for the second time.
The council appointed him back him April but Perea had to quit a week later because other people who wanted to be mayor could not get into a council meeting because it was so crowded.
This came after the man who was elected mayor, Daniel Salinas, could not be sworn in because he was charged with a number of crimes including trying to blackmail another candidate with a lap-dance video.
