AUSTIN (KXAN/AP) - Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, both running for Texas governor, will begin airing television spots Friday.

Perry's first ad of the campaign, called "Texas Values," will air statewide starting Friday.

The ad highlights conservative leadership and Perry's record with creating new jobs and reducing general state spending.  The ad also takes a dig at Hutchison and Washington politics.

Hutchison campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Baker said their TV ads would start Friday and air around the state through Thanksgiving. Baker said the TV ad would highlight Hutchison's opposition to the Democrats' health care overhaul legislation in Congress.

Hutchison's first ad is called "Fighter"
