Sandoval ballot recount still in limbo

BERNALILLO, N.M. (KRQE) - Two Republicans in Sandoval County who are running for office have until close of business to decide if they want a recount.

In those races Democrat Eileen Garbagni barely outpolled Paula Papponi for county clerk, and Democrat state Sen. John Sapien defeated David Doyle for the seat that also includes a piece of Bernalillo County.

The races are not close enough to trigger an automatic recount, so Papponi paid more than $2,000 to have the ballots impounded until she and Doyle decide what to do.
