Workforce Solutions has more setbacks

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Thousands of New Mexicans are missing their unemployment payments, after a system error at the Department of Workforce Solutions.

Carrie Moritomo with Workforce Solutions said the technical problems occurred Sunday night.

The department is working to fix the problem that left 9,300 people without their unemployment benefits.

People should start receiving their payments within the next 72 hours.

Moritomo said those with direct deposit or those who get traditional checks are not affected by the error.

The problem is just one of several for Workforce Solutions.

People have been having a difficult time getting through to the department for months. Many of the problems stem from phone and website overload.
