White resigns, effective Nov. 30

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Bernalillo County Sheriff Darren White has tendered his resignation, which will take effect sometime Nov. 30, the day before he becomes Albuquerque's chief public safety officer.

White will take the new position when Richard "RJ" Berry is sworn in as Albuquerque's mayor.

Bernalillo County commissioners are continuing to sort through applications and interviewing candidates to take over as interim sheriff.
