LOS ALAMOS, N.M. (AP) - Los Alamos County's assistant administrator will take over the top job next month.
The County Council has appointed Anthony Mortillaro to succeed Max Baker, who is retiring as county administrator on Oct. 21.
Mortillaro has been assistant county administrator since 2004.
He has a master's degree in public administration and more than 25 years of local government experience, including as town manager of Prescott Valley, Ariz.
His salary will increase from nearly $144,000 to $156,000 once he becomes administrator.
