LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Some Dona Ana County officials say they're frustrated by the lack of federal economic stimulus money heading their way.

The county requested about $80 million in federal stimulus funds in January, but so far it looks like only a $2.5 million road project will get funding.

County Commissioner Oscar Vasquez-Butler says the second-largest county in the state should be able to expect the $80 million it's requesting would be seriously considered.

The projects the county would like to fund include road projects, an arsenic treatment facility and two flood control projects.

Former Governor Toney Anaya heads the New Mexico Office of Recovery and Reinvestment. He says the state will be lucky if it gets $500 million total for infrastructure projects.
