NM health centers to get federal funds

    ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - New Mexico will receive more than $12.8 million in federal stimulus funds to help increase access to health care for New Mexicans.

    U.S. Sens. Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall made the announcement Monday, saying the funding will ensure that community health care centers across the state will have what they need to treat their patients.

    The funding will be used to improve the infrastructure and technology at more than a dozen health care centers.

    Those centers receiving money include Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless, the Ben Archer Health Center in Hatch, Fort Sumner's De Baca Family Practice Clinic and Centro Family Health in Española.
