TAOS, N.M. (AP) - The man selected to become the chief of police in Taos will not accept the job.
Taos Mayor Darren Córdova said Wednesday that Scott Peters' decision came because of unforeseen issues concerning his family.
Córdova says it has nothing to do with the specifics of the job.
The northern New Mexico town now is re-advertising for the police chief's position.
The former police chief, Rick Anglada, recently retired.
