Occupy Las Cruces to leave city park

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Occupy Las Cruces protesters say they plan to take down their tents near City Hall Saturday and begin what they call a new phase across town.

A spokeswoman for the group tells the Las Cruces Sun-News they have completed phase one of their protest and are moving on to phase two which includes taking down their tents and moving into the streets. The group also thanked the Las Cruces community for its support.

Some of the items listed as successes by the Occupy Las Cruces movement included maintaining a 24-hour peaceful demonstration site in a public park and expressing solidarity with national Occupy movements.
