SANTA FE (AP) - Tribal leaders from pueblos and reservations around New Mexico are gathering at the State Capitol for the 25th annual American Indian Day at the Legislature.
This year's theme focuses on strengthening sovereignty through state and tribal leadership.
Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly will be among the leaders who are expected to participate. His office says he will be making remarks in the Rotunda.
This will mark Shelly's second visit to Santa Fe in recent weeks.
The events start Friday morning in the Rotunda and will last until noon.
