SANTA FE (KRQE) - The house passed a proposal Monday that would prevent some convicted drunk drivers from buying booze.
Under the bill anyone with an ignition interlock license would have their license changed to indicate that the driver could not purchase alcohol.
It’s part of a larger push to crack down on ignition interlock drivers.
Another bill passed last week requires people with interlocks to prove each week that they are not blowing positive into the device if they want to get their regular drivers license back.
Both interlock proposals now need approval from the Senate.
