ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Looking back and looking ahead. That's what community leaders, teachers, students and others were doing as part of the Centennial Town Hall.
About 200 people are taking part in the two-day forum put on by New Mexico First .
As New Mexico celebrates 100 years of statehood, this group is looking at the opportunities and challenges that the next 100 years could pose.
"We recognize that we have some challenges to overcome, challenges in terms of getting our young people graduated from high school, making sure that our economy is diversified, that we have the resources that we need to have a vibrant culture and economy in the future," New Mexico First President Heather Balas said Thursday.
The town hall is focused on education, the economy, energy and health with the discussions distilled into a 14-point platform of recommendations for lawmakers and communities.
