NM Congressional leaders to honor Petry

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Local hero, sergeant first class Leroy Petry of Santa Fe, will be honored by New Mexico’s congressional delegation on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Tuesday morning.

Petry received the Medal of Honor from president Obama in July for his heroic efforts three years ago during a firefight in Afghanistan.

Tuesday, Martin Heinrich, Steve Pearce, Ben Ray Lujan, Senators Jeff Bingaman, Tom Udall and other dignitaries, will honor Petry with a ceremony and resolution recognizing his valor and heroism.
