ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - While the national Republican Party has all but abandoned New Mexico in recent weeks, three key GOP senators are coming to Albuquerque Tuesday to raise money and boost the campaign of Heather Wilson for U.S. Senate.

U.S. Sens. John McCain of Arizona, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina are expected to highlight her commitment to funding for New Mexico's federal labs and military bases.

Wilson has been trailing Democratic Rep. Martin Heinrich in the race to succeed retiring U.S. Sen. Jeff Bingaman, a Democrat.

The National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee recently shifted $3 million in television advertising it had reserved for Wilson to a more competitive race. And just last week, the Republican National Committee transferred three key staffers from its campaign efforts here to other states.
