Mayor mum on GOP presidential race

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry says he will likely not endorse a GOP candidate for president until after the primaries.

Berry, who in 2009 became the city's first Republican mayor in two decades, told the Associated Press on Wednesday that he's been following the race but hasn't picked a favorite.

The first-term mayor of New Mexico's largest city said he's watched most of the Republican debates and keeps track of race. However, Berry said he's been too busy with his new job as mayor to pick a candidate.

Gov. Susana Martinez, another Republican, said she also has not picked a favorite in the race.

New Mexico is one of the last states to hold a presidential primary next year. The primary is scheduled June 5.
