ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A Hispanic rights group is suing the city of Albuquerque over last year's city council redistricting.

The city reworked districts because of a population boom in northwest Albuquerque.

LULAC says the new districts do not represent the tens of thousands of Hispanic voters in Albuquerque. They claim it decreases their voting power.

The city says the plan is legal and meets constitutional requirements and is confident it will hold up in court.
