ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Senator Martin Heinrich is joining the Senate Democratic Hispanic Task Force.

Retired Senator Jeff Bingaman established the task force in 1989 as a way to increase communication between Hispanic leaders and senators to ensure the issues of the Hispanic community are addressed in congress.

Heinrich says he's proud to join the task force and is committed to fighting for issues that matter most to Hispanic families including job creation, education and immigration.
