ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - New Mexico broadcasters and the public policy group New Mexico First are planning a series of town hall debates in October that will focus on the candidates vying for seats in New Mexico's three congressional districts.
Organizers say 40 to 60 citizens will be brought together in each district to come up with questions for the congressional candidates. After a half-day town hall, the questions will be posed to the candidates in a live, televised debate.
Former ABC newsman Sam Donaldson will moderate all three town hall debates.
The town hall debates will be held in Portales, Albuquerque and Las Cruces.
Organizers say participants much pre-register. Seating is limited.
