ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Albuquerque Mayor-elect Richard Berry issued a statement in remembrance of former Gov. Bruce King, who died Friday, Nov. 13.
"Maria and I were deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Governor Bruce King. From the El Comedor in Moriarty to the state capitol, Governor King was a man who never met a stranger and could call each person by their first name. Governor King was a great man whose legacy of public service is marked by his passion for the people that he served. If we were to write the history of the first 100 years of New Mexico's statehood, Governor King would be a central chapter. Our prayers today are with his family and friends."
