Deputy felled by cancer remembered

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Friends, loved ones and co-workers said good-bye to a beloved Bernalillo County sheriff's deputy on Friday.

Deputy Daphne Garcia, 50, was laid to rest after losing her battle with skin cancer.

She was diagnosed a year ago and died on Monday.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at St.Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church.

She was buried at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
