ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Slot-machine gambling in New Mexico is producing bigger returns overall, with tribal casinos showing an increase but racetrack casinos recording a drop.
Overall, the Gaming Control Board reports that total "net win" from slot machines increased by about 4 percent in 2012 from 2011 and just barely topped $1 billion for the first time.
Net win is the amount wagered on slot machines after deducting payouts to winners and approved regulatory fees.
The Albuquerque Journal (http://bit.ly/13IbTy9 ) reports that tribal casinos' total net win increased by about 6 percent.
Meanwhile, the track casinos' net win decreased by 3 percent.
