ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A longtime conservative talk radio host and his Albuquerque station have parted way.
Jim Villanucci announced in a statement Friday that his contract with Cumulus Media, parent company of KKOB-AM in Albuquerque, was not renewed and he wasn't offered an extension.
Cumulus Media says that Villanucci was not fired but his contract was not picked up when it expired.
News of Villanucci's departure Thursday was first reported by Albuquerque Business First.
Villanucci had been at the station for 14 years and his support was often sought from New Mexico Republicans running for office.
