ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The woman thought killed when a car crashed into a Target store Monday night now turns out to be the surviving passenger whom police say is not cooperating in the investigation.

Albuquerque police are now waiting for the Office of the Medical Investigator to identify the woman.

According to police the woman was driving south on Morris NE at a high rate of speed when she lost control which crossing Lomas Boulevard and took out a fire hydrant before slamming into the Target at 11120 Lomas.

She died at the scene, and Lynette Haozous, 27, was taken to a hospital.

Police said investigators initially believed the driver was Haozous but then discovered she was the passenger carrying someone else's ID and refusing to identify herself.

For now investigators are at a loss to explain why Haozous is not cooperating or giving up the name of her dead companion, an Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson said early Tuesday afternoon.
