LAS CRUCES (KRQE) - Who would reign supreme in the Rio Grande rivalry, the University of New Mexico or New Mexico State?

In the end the lobos came out on top, with a 27 to 14 win over the Aggies, snapping the longest road losing skid in 24 games in the country.

While the game was the talk all across the state inside the stadium the buzz was a woman getting shot.

A woman in her 50's minding her own business, sitting in the B section watching the Lobo Aggie annual face-off in Las Cruces, when she got hit in the leg with a bullet.

It seemed to come out of nowhere, but no gunshots were heard inside the stadium.

Campus police suspect the round was fired into the air from outside the stadium.

The woman was air-lifted to University Medical Center and her condition is stable.

So far, police have no suspects.

Anyone who noticed any suspicious activity is urged to all the NMSU police at 575-646-3311.
