Pilot killed in small plane crash in SW NM

DEMING, N.M. (KRQE) - The pilot of a small plane was killed when it crashed near Deming Wednesday.
      
Shortly before he went down, Carl Link made a distress call that he was losing his vision.
      
The FAA then lost contact with him.
       
Link recently moved to New Mexico from Missouri, the plane was registered to Radium Springs in Dona Ana County.
       
He was the only person on board and was dead at the scene.
