LAS CRUCES (KRQE) - Brayton Smoot walked away from an assisted-center in Las Cruces on July 3 and remains missing.
Smoot, 77, is in the onset stages of Alzheimer's disease and occasionally becomes confused, according to the state Department of Public Safety.
Later was reported to have been seen nearby near Hotel Encanto on Telshor Boulevard, at the corner of Idaho Street and El Paso Road and at the Bridge of the Americas in El Paso.
He is described as being 6 feet tall and weighing about 185 pounds. His eyes are blue and his hair is mostly gray.
