Texas teen dies in fatal accident

TATUM, N.M. (KRQE) - A Texas teen lost her life in a fatal crash near Tatutm, N.M. on Friday night.

The car was on State Road 125 northeast of Tatutm around 10:00 p.m. when the driver swerved to avoid a deer.

The four door Chevrolet went into a ditch and rolled.

State police said Myra Hernandez, 18, was ejected from the passenger seat. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Both she and the driver Cynthia Lujan-Benavidez are from Morton, Texas.

The girls were both taken to a Lubbock Hospital, where Hernandez died of her injuries.
