ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) - Roswell police say they are still short around a dozen or so officers.

The department is interviewing officers from other states in hopes of ending the officer shortage and has advertised job openings in Albuquerque.

The hiring campaign, which began last year, has cut the shortage in half.
At that point the department was down about 25 officers.
