ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) - Monday CNN profiled the controversial horse slaughterhouse set to open in a few weeks in Roswell.
”It will be a facility that's run professionally, and we will do everything we can to do it humanely,” Ricardo De Los Santos said.

According to Monday's report on Erin Burnett, the horses will be kept in pens, inspected by the USDA then moved inside a shoot where a bolt will be shot into their skull, knocking them unconscious.
The meat will be sold overseas it's illegal in the U.S.
De Los Santos plans on hiring 40 workers when the slaughterhouse opens and 100 when it's fully operational.
