ROSWELL, N.M. (KBIM-KRQE) - Chaves County drivers using U.S. Highway 380 east of Roswell should be prepared for road construction beginning this week.

Crews are working on various improvements to the highway, including new embankments, new guardrails, culvert extensions and drainage ditch improvements starting Monday morning.

The construction, which runs 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through mid-March, will close various lanes and create delays of up to five minutes on Highway 380 between mile marker 157 near the Roswell city limits and mile marker 162 five miles east.
