Alamogordo pilot killed in Iraq

MOSUL, Iraq (KRQE-KBIM) - A 28-year-old pilot for the U.S. Army was killed last weekend in a helicopter crash near Mosul.

Chief Warrant Officer Christian P. Humphreys and Chief Warrant Officer Donald V. Clark were killed Nov. 15 when their OH-58 Kiowa helicopter crashed during a mission.

Humphreys grew up in Alamogordo and graduated from Alamogordo High School. He and Clark were assigned to the Sixth Squadron, 17th Calvary Regiment, Task Force 49, stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

Humphreys' wife and parents still live in Alamogordo.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
