ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) - A gun that was found in a package of meat in Roswell will soon be on its way back to Greeley Colorado where it may have come from.

The gun was found by an employee at Albertsons.

It was in a package of meat from the swift meat plant, in Greeley.

Roswell police entered the serial number and it doesn't come up stolen or missing.

Greeley police are now investigating if it is linked to any crimes there.

A spokesperson says they have asked Roswell police to mail the gun to them so they can do ballistics tests.

The box of meat where it was found was nearly one year old.
