Two killed in early-morning fire

FARMINGTON, N.M. (KREZ-KRQE) - An early-morning fire killed two people and sent a child to the hospital in southern Farmington on Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to the fire near the intersection of Southside River Road and Malta Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. The home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.

Two people in the home died on the scene while a child was taken to a hospital by medical helicopter.

The fire is being investigated by the Farmington fire marshal and San Juan County arson investigators.
