BLOOMFIELD, N.M. (KRQE) - A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a truck on U.S. 550, about 30 miles outside Bloomfield.
The San Juan County sheriff's office says 28-year-old Nathan Sylvester of Bloomfield died Saturday.
The driver of the truck told investigators that Sylvester stepped into his lane and was hit by the truck's side mirror.
Police say the truck driver called 911 and tried to do CPR on the victim.
Authorities are awaiting toxicology results, but they say cans of alcohol were found on Sylvester.
