TUCUMCARI, N.M. (KRQE) - A New Mexico teen had to be rescued from a narrow ledge on the face of a Tucumcari mountain Monday.
Emergency workers reached the 14-year-old who was stranded about midway up the 700-foot landmark, south of the city just before 4 o’clock Monday afternoon.
Alex Jauck was located with the help of a bicyclist on the mountain. A climber then repelled down the face of the mountain to the teen, who was huddled on a small ledge.
The climber brought the team down from the mountain.
The teen was then taken to the hospital, no word on his condition Tuesday.
