Skiers, snowboarders welcome new snow

ANGEL FIRE, N.M. (KRQE) - Fresh snow this week helped some New Mexico ski areas as video of a snowboarder shredding his way down the slopes of the Angel Fire Ski Resort shows.

The video shows Charles Olsen zipping down a mountain and at one point weaving in and out of the trees.

Resort officials told KRQE News 13 they got 9 inches of new snow on Tuesday

Recent winter storms have Angel Fire reporting a 29-inch base.

Other snow totals from Tuesday's storm welcomed by resorts in New Mexico and southwestern Colorado include:

  • Silverton - 26 inches
  • Durango Mountain Resort - 11 inches
  • Wolf Creek - 13 inches
  • Red River - 15 inches
  • Taos Ski Valley - 13 inches
  • Sipapu - 10 inches
  • Ski Santa Fe - 7 inches
  • Ski Apache - 6 inches
  • Sandia Peak - 3 inches
