PILAR, N.M. (KRQE) - A fatal car accident involving multiple cars along Highway 68 occurred Saturday in Taos County.
The accident involved six cars, injured several and killed two people so far, according to the Taos undersheriff. The victims are Robert Benavidez, 58, and Angelo Benavidez, 3.
Others involved in the accident were taken to various hospitals in the cities of Espanola, Taos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
The crash happened around to 4:30 p.m. and closed down Highway 68 for several hours. The highway was reopened on Sunday.
Reconstruction crews are currently trying to determine the cause of the accident.
