ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The zoo in Albuquerque had to say goodbye to a long time resident, Zaki the koala.

The Albuquerque BioPark says they had to put down the 18-year-old koala because of age-related issues.

Zaki was one of the oldest koalas in captivity and the only Victorian koala in North America.

He's survived by Luke, a male Queensland koala that recently arrived at the zoo.
